Play Time!

Logan is getting very good at playing and "scooting" on the floor. He rolls everywhere and I have even witnessed him getting up on all 4's! Logan is the happiest baby and he absolutely loves playing with his brother. He will just look at Ben and start laughing. Randy and I have agreed that Ben and Logan totally communicate with each other---it's just on a totally different level. Seeing it, is believing it.

A New Love

I have a new love...and a new obsession...my Beaba Babycook! After having Logan, I decided early on that I was going to make his baby food, instead of buying it. I have nothing against Gerber or Beechnut, or any of the other baby food brands---the Lord knows I bought it all for Ben! But since I am at home now, I wanted to make Logan's baby food, or at least give it a concerted effort. So, I bought a Beaba Babycook system. This wonderful "gadget" steams, chops, and purees the food all in one container---so clean up is a cinch! I don't have to steam my fruits/veggies in steamer trays in pots on the stove, then transfer them to my food processor, etc. It does it all! I love it!!! Making Logan's food is easier than I ever dreamed, and I love it! I try to use mostly organic fruits and veggies---and even after buying organic (a little more expensive), it is still cheaper than buying the packaged babyfood off the shelf. And my little man loves it---and that makes me love it even more! My Love...
My freezer trays, loaded with baby food! :-) We haven't found one food yet that Logan doesn't like. (These are baby cubes, found on Amazon---they are individual serving dishes, 1 oz and 2 oz, that snap closed for easy storing and reheating. I love these too!)

I LOVE FOOD!!

Logan has proven to be quite the little eater! He absolutely loves eating food and has recently discovered his love for "Baby Mum Mums"---a rice cake for babies! He is getting so big. Since we started him on baby food about 4 weeks ago, I think he has gained weight so fast! And his rolls (oh I love those rolls!), have gotten deeper on his arms and legs. Here are some pics of Logan in his high chair, enjoying one of his Mum Mums.
(Notice the deep wrist rolls---we have to pry those open during bath time!) ;-)

Ben's Fiesta Parade

Ben's preschool has an annual Fiesta parade, to coordinate with the San Antonio Fiesta schedule. This year, Ben's class made noise-makers and paraded around the parking lot. He had a lot of fun. The kids all looked very cute! Here are some pictures.

(Yes, for those of you paying attention to Ben's shirt, it says, "Be Cute, Don't Pollute". I love it!)

Easter Morning!

Easter morning was wet and rainy. So the Easter bunny had to "hop" inside this year and leave the eggs around the house. Ben had a lot of fun finding all the eggs. He didn't care if they were inside or outside! Ben's surprised face upon finding what the Easter bunny left him in his basket.

Ben loved the water gun the Easter bunny gave him! He wanted to play with it right away!

My sweet Logan with his "1st Easter Bunny".

Ben was so proud of all the eggs he found!

Dyeing Easter Eggs

This was the first year that Ben got to dye Easter eggs. He liked it a lot!

Disney On Ice!

Randy and I had some special one-on-one time with Ben Friday night. We took him to see Disney on Ice! It was a big surprise for Ben, and he loved every minute of it! His favorite part was seeing Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. Randy and I were so excited to see how much fun he had---because we are planning a trip to Disney World January 2010! He is going to love it! Randy and Ben at dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse prior to the big show!
Ben and Momma waiting for the show to start!
Randy got Ben a lighted spinner (it cost almost as much as one of the tickets!)---it had Tinkerbell on top, but Ben didn't want her, "Momma, that's for guwls" (girls)! Randy quickly broke Tinkerbell off, and Ben was happy! Thanks Daddy!
We had a great seats!

Bath Tub Time!

We bathed the boys together for the first time! They both had so much fun!

Randy's Birthday Weekend at Falcon Point Club

Randy and I hosted our families for a fun-filled fishing and spa weekend at Falcon Point Bay Club, in Seadrift, Texas. Randy and I are land-owners there, and enjoy using the lodge as much as possible. It is a great place for a retreat! It was Randy's 30th Birthday weekend, and everyone had a great time. Here are some pictures of everyone having fun! Logan enjoying his stroller!
Ryan, my brother, and his son, Jack. Getting ready for a boat ride with Gran!
Kylee Thompson (I adopted her for the weekend because her mom had to stay home with her little brother Colton, who had pneumonia! We missed you Colton and Marti!)
Evan and Laura Hood---our nieces.
Everyone ready for the boat ride!
Kara and Paul kayaking.
Logan and Momma enjoying the early morning sun rise and watching the birds work the fish along the coastline. It was beautiful---and a little chilly!
We did a lot of late night fishing from the pier. Here is Ben, puckering to give his fish a kiss!
Randy was helping Ben cast his rod into the water---and just as he was handing it back to Ben to fish with, the line zipped out and Randy hooked a BIG redfish! Nevertheless, the redfish was strong and couldn't give the rod back to Ben (there was no way Ben could hang on to it!). Randy fought that redfish for about 30-45 minutes before landing him! It was the highlight of the night---catching a 29 inch Redfish on a 30 inch Zebco fishing rod! Too funny...
Kylee and Scott Thompson---with Kylee's first fish of the evening! I don't know who was more proud...
Andy, Randy's brother, showing off one of his catches!
Happy Birthday Randy!
Ben and Kylee, helping Randy blow out all of his candles!
Logan bundled up on a walk out onto the pier!
"Ranger Bobby" and all the kids posing for a picture after the safari! Falcon Point has a 6,000 acre exotic game ranch, and "Ranger Bobby" took the kids out twice to see all the animals. They loved it!
Mimi with Ben and Logan! Having fun!

Houston: We have a tooth!

Logan has been teething for the last 2-3 weeks...gnashing his teeth on toys, biting, drooling, pulling at his ears, and being a little more fussy than usual. I even took him to the doctor to rule out an ear infection, because the symptoms are so similar (and with Ben's history, I guess I am a little hypervigilant!). Well, this morning, I saw something a little "pearly" on his bottom gum line, and sure enough I felt a tooth! I gave him a wooden spoon and he is biting that thing like there is no tomorrow! Logan is 5 months old today...and got his first tooth! :-)
