More Outdoor Fun

Blogger wouldn't let me add pictures to my previous post...so here are some more fun slip and slide pictures! We had a lot of fun this weekend outside with the boys (despite the very hot weather!).

Slippin' and Slidin'

Logan has been watching his big brother play on the slip and slide all summer...and got really fussy this weekend watching Ben playing on it. So, I told Randy that I was going to put Logan out there to see if he wanted to cool off and play too! (Logan has been wanting to play more and more with his big brother and big brother's toys!) Well, Logan LOVED the slip and slide! He crawled right down the slide without any hesitation...and even slipped and fell a few times! He was smiling and laughing the entire time. Here are some pictures of the inaugural run/crawl on the slip and slide!

Messy, Messy, Messy!

Feeding Logan is quickly becoming a very messy adventure. He is realizing that he likes to feed himself more than having Mommy or Daddy feed him. And in this realization, he has become very, very messy. I think we hit the messiest feeding yet in his almost 9 month old life, this very evening. Can you guess what he ate tonight? There is evidence everywhere... Logan wondering which piece of avocado to go after next...

Here he is shoving another piece of food in his mouth. Maybe avocado, maybe carrots, maybe sweet potatoes....in fact, it could have been a number of foods!

Smiling, quite proud of feeding himself tonight.

And he just gets messier as the meal continues! I think he ate for about 45 minutes straight tonight! I don't have a clue where all this food goes!

End result. Happy. Full. Going straight to the bath!

Fun with the Trampoline!

This past week, I introduced Ben to jumping on the trampoline with a sprinkler. This is a very fun past-time that I grew up doing in Drippin'. (Kara and Leslie, do you remember the summers jumping away?) :-) The innocence of childhood summers is so fond in my memory, that I can only hope my children remember how fun their childhood summers are as well. Needless to say, Ben had a GREAT time jumping on the trampoline with the water sprinkler. In fact, there is no other way to jump anymore! Here are some fun pics of my monkey jumping around. :-)

Posing for a picture next to "his" rainbow. He thought that rainbow was so cool!

Our first dinner party!

My sister Kara, her husband Paul, and my grandmother, Oma all came into town this past weekend for a visit! It was so nice to see them all! We had a great time visiting and hanging out---we always wish we had more time together. Saturday evening we all gathered at our house for a dinner party. It was great! Dad grilled steaks and there were so many desserts...it was hard to choose which one to try first! We can't wait for them to all come back and visit again soon!
Kara, Paul, Oma, and Ben enjoying a great game of Hungry Hippos!

Logan, enjoying being the center of attention in the kitchen, where all the action was taking place!

My mom's cousin, Carey, and his wife Bonnie McBride, also came into town to visit and joined us for dinner. It was great visiting with them as well!

Logan and Carey took quite well with each other. They became buddies quickly and easily!

Just trying to make him happy...

Logan just recently got over his 1st ear infection. He went through 3 rounds of oral antiobiotics, which didn't seem to heal it; and finally, we just completed a round of antibiotics given as shots in his legs. :-( Poor baby has felt bad for almost a month now. But we went to the doctor again today, and we got a clean and clear report! Yea! However, over the weekend, Logan was quite fussy, not sleeping well, and all around grumpy. Randy and I tried everything to make him happy...including, putting him in the hammock and giving him a good swing. Success! He loves the hammock!
Really, he did enjoy it...he was just a grump and not smiling much for anything. Poor baby...

Yea! Logan!

Discovering my pots and pans...

My pots and pans are exposed in our new kitchen...and it didn't take long for Logan to discover that! He has tons of fun playing (and making lots of noise) with them!

Finally! New Home pictures...

Hello family and friends! Yes, we are still here...just have been quite busy! It has been 2 weeks since we moved into our new home, and we are loving it! The new, bigger space has been great and the kids seem to love it as much as Randy and I do. In fact, I was quite nervous about how well everyone would sleep on our first night, and both kids slept great! Not a peep out of anyone all night! (Phew, what a relief!) We are still unpacking boxes, I think I have 6 left. Randy has quite a bit to unpack in his garage---he has quite an assortment of tools and other garage items to sort through and organize! And I can't wait for him to do it, because I am ready to start parking in the garage again! Anyway, the walls are still a bit bare...I am in the early stages of hanging things, but I have had many friends and family ask for pictures and some blog updating, so here you go!

My awesome 6 burner gas range, with griddle! Lots of good meals waiting to be cooked here! :-)

One view of backyard. Our property sits on a little over 1 acre; tons of room for the kids to run around and play!

Another backyard view. (Ben loves his new trampoline! So do his mommy and daddy...) :-)
I will post some more pictures as we complete rooms in the house. The kids rooms look great, but the walls are still really bare. And my dining room is currently a storage area for "things-to-be-hung". Unfortunately, our dining room table was broken during the move. So when the time is right, Randy and I will be hunting for a new one... So, as you can see, there is a lot of stuff to do around here, but all in all, it is shaping up and looking like a cozy home! We are so excited about our future here on Turkey Creek. :-)
