Rice Cereal!

"Here Comes the Choo-Choo"

We fed Logan his first rice cereal this weekend. He LOVES it! I was postponing the inevitable 1st foods because he didn't seem interested...however lately, he has been staring at us when we eat. And the final straw was when he started grabbing Ben's cookies the other day! (ooops!) Ben was excited to help with his first "baby food". You can hear him telling Logan, "Open up...Here comes the choo-choo train!" Too cute!

Bike Video

In case you can't tell, we are so proud of Ben riding his bike. So, if you just haven't gotten enough, here's a video of him riding around the driveway! :-)

P.S. You might want to pause the music down at the bottom of the page so you can hear Ben.

Ben's BIG BOY BIKE!!!

We got Ben a "BIG BOY BIKE" today. He was so excited! We went to Walmart as a family, and Ben picked out his bike and helmet all by himself. He was so happy---I should have taken pictures at Walmart---he was so cute! Our little boy is definitely growing up fast now! Randy and Ben getting ready for the 1st bike voyage!

Here we go!

He was great! He rides that bike like he has done it his whole life!

My VERY PROUD BIG BOY!

Outdoor Swing!

I put Logan in the outdoor swing for the 1st time the other day. He wasn't too sure about it initially---was really close to crying---but then I guess he realized that it wasn't scary at all! He loves it!

For the Love of Games

Ben LOVES games. Any games...board games, athletic games (namely baseball and soccer), racing games, imaginary games, Wii games, and most recently computer games! Much to mine and Randy's surprise, Ben (instinctively?) knew how to use the mouse! He has become quite the expert with the mouse...and can even double click!

Happy Baby

Family Fun

We took the kids to the zoo today. We had tons of fun feeding the fish, having a picnic, seeing all the animals, and riding the Brackenridge Zoo train. Logan slept through the entire trip, but woke up just in time for the train ride. However, he cried almost the entire train ride---I don't think he liked all the bells, whistles, and other noises of the train. Poor baby, we will sit out on the next train ride! All in all, we had a great Saturday...and now it is time for a nap! Logan, sleeping through his first zoo trip....he'll enjoy it much more when he gets older! ;-)

Ben and Mommy after our picnic!

Logan and Mommy, before the train started moving...he was still happy here!

Logan is 4 months old!

I took Logan to his 4 month check up this week. I cannot believe he is already 4 months old! Time really has flown by... Logan's physical was great. He is gaining weight and growing developmentally---right on schedule. I admitted to the doctor that Logan doesn't get quite as much tummy time as he probably should...but with our busy schedule, sometimes it is hard to fit everything into our day! With his great head control and upper body stability, the doctor said we could also start rice cereal now, but I think I am going to wait out as long as possible. Logan doesn't seem interested, nor does he seem like he needs it! He is sleeping great at night; he goes to bed between 6:30-7pm and sleeps 12-13 hours straight! And during the day, he nurses every 3-3 1/2 hours. He seems very content---so I am going to hold out on baby food for awhile longer!

Here are Logan's growing stats:
Weight: 15 lbs 4 oz
Length: 25 3/4 inches

Compared to his big brother, Logan seems to still be a bit smaller...but I am sure he will catch up soon! At this age, Ben was a hefty 15 lbs 15 oz and 27 inches!

I Can Do It By Myself!

Randy and I were able to have a quick getaway this past weekend---our first trip alone (without any kids!)---since Logan was born. Although I knew he was in great care (thanks Mimi and Gran!), I was quite nervous about leaving my baby. The obvious reason, because he is my baby! (We never left Ben when he was this little!) But also because Logan has proven in the past that he does not like eating from a bottle. Previously when I have left him with bottles to eat, he has been fussy, refused the bottle, and when has eaten from the bottle, it was not very much (like 1 ounce!). Well, this past weekend it was obvious that Logan has overcome his bottle aversion! In fact, he prefered to hold the bottle himself!! For the short time while we were gone, the kids were great and Mimi and Gran had a really fun time. Randy and I got to catch up with some great college friends and even stayed out past midnight! ;-) Overall, it seemed everyone had a great time, so Randy and I are all ready talking about our next trip---without kids! Logan and Mimi: "I can do it by myself!"
