And the Wii is on....

Randy got a Wii for Christmas this year, and last night we introduced Mario Cart to Ben. He is definitely too little to play by himself, but had a great time playing with Daddy and Gran! (This picture shows the amazing resemblance that Ben and Randy have!---They are twins!) Anyway, fun times at the Hood house with Wii....anyone up for a game of Mario Cart online? :-)

Playing with Friends

Ben loves having friends come over and play. Here is Ben and Christian Crippen playing with the Gator. Christian had so much fun playing and driving the Gator... you can see the excitement on his face!

The Hood Boys

Here are my three boys (and Bonnie is in the background!)... I call them my "Three Peas in a Pod". Both of our boys resemble Randy so much, you would never know that I am their mother! Although, the more Logan grows and develops, the more we know he definitely has my personality. My mother says there are so many similar characteristics of Logan as a baby compared to me when I was a baby; such as: Loves to sleep; Doesn't like to be cradled; Prefers to be put down rather than to be held (most of the time); Great at feeding; and Soothes himself and falls asleep easily. There are other characteristics that come to light every day it seems...he is growing so fast!

Touch iPod Junkie

Randy got me a touch iPod for Christmas this year...however it might have well been Ben's gift! He's addicted to the games on the iPod, especially Ms. PacMan and Penguin Lite games. He could spend hours playing the iPod (if I let him!)....here are some pictures of my iPod Junkie.

Dentist Emergency!

Well, we've gone over 3 years without any type of emergency around here...until last night! (It's bound to happen sometime with a very active toddler, right?) Last night after Randy got finished reading Ben bedtime stories, Ben was reaching for his glass of water on his nightstand next to his bed. He consequently slipped and hit his mouth really hard on the corner of the nightstand. After lots of crying and blood, Randy and I were able to get a good look at the damage. Ugh. His front 4 teeth had shifted backwards (looking like he has an underbite) and his right front tooth had tipped back really bad...pointing back towards his throat. His gums are really bruised too. I called the dentist on-call (funny, Ben's first dentist appt was schedule for tomorrow, Wednesday)...and she said to put some ice on it, give him Motrin and come into the office first thing at 9am.
So, we went to the dentist this morning and he said that the bad tooth didn't need to be pulled right now. Ben wouldn't cooperate for an xray to see if the tooth was broken at the root, so we just have to wait and see if it abcesses. The dentist said a lot of these tooth injuries to baby teeth are able to heal themselves and few have to be pulled. He said a lot of baby teeth with these injuries can actually move back towards the original place over time. (I'm hopeful!) The injury will not affect his permanent teeth, but until he loses his baby teeth, he will be "snaggle-toothed". Which won't be that big of a deal, because when Ben smiles you never see his teeth anyway! His upper lip always covers his teeth when he smiles. So, for now, we wait to see if his tooth abcesses and feed him a soft diet for the next few days.
(P.S. Didn't want to post a picture of this injury...it's pretty gross!) ;-)

Logan is 2 months old!

Randy and I took both boys for their pediatrician check-ups on January 2nd. It is hard to believe that Logan is 2 months old...and that Ben is 3 years old! Both boys had great checkups; despite Logan having to get 3 shots! Poor baby cried so hard---don't know who it is harder for, Logan or Mommy! Here were the weigh-ins on both boys:
Logan, 2 months old: 13 lbs 2 oz and 24 inches long.
Ben, 3 years old: 38 1/2 lbs and 41 inches tall.
Knowing your not supposed to, but doing it anyways... To compare both boys when they were both 2 months old... Ben was 12 lbs 10 oz and 25 1/2 inches long. Logan seems to be a bit heavier, but not as long.
Here are some pics of my 2 month old and my 3 year old!

Not the best picture (due to the picture-taker), but you can see Logan's happy disposition and him laughing at Daddy!
And here is my happy 3 year old!

Happy New Year!

The Hoods had a very un-eventful New Years...with a new baby, what do you expect?!? Here are some pictures of what we did this New Year holiday: Took some naps...
Went for walks...

And played outside a lot! (It was a really warm New Year weekend---highs up to 82!)

Washed Mommy's car...
Ben loved washing Mommy's car!
And got SOAKING wet doing it!
The Hood Family wishes all of our family and friends a very healthy and happy 2009!
