Flashback: Three years of Halloween and Pumpkin Carving

Here's a look back at our last three years of Ben and Pumpkin carving...His first Halloween: He was way too little to understand, or even take part in pumpkin carving!

Pumpkin Carving

We did our pumpkin carving this evening with Ben. We had a lot of fun and our pumpkins turned out pretty cute!
We had to give Ben a kitchen spoon to help dig out the insides of the pumpkin...he wasn't interested in using his hands---he didn't want his hands getting dirty!

Logan's Nursery

A lot of people have asked me what Logan's nursery looks like; so here are some pictures of his new room! The only thing missing is Logan! We decided to go with a Jungle/Safari theme for Logan's room.

Logan's Baby Shower

Two of my sweetest friends hosted a Baby Shower for me and Logan this Saturday, October 25th. They went above and beyond, and made sure I felt "showered" with love. Logan and I received so many nice gifts---it was a perfect day. Here is a picture of me with my hostesses: Marissa Crippen and Kathy Krejci.
A look at the food table... Kathy made the cake and quiches herself, from scratch! Everything was delicious!

Three generations: Me with my Oma and my Mom (aka "Mimi")

Here's another one with my sweet Aunt Connie---The "McBride Women"---we were only missing my sister, Kara. She was unfortunately called back to work in Galveston this weekend (even though she still doesn't have a home to live in!). We missed you sister!

Pumpkin Patch

We took Ben to a local pumpkin patch today. He had a lot of fun running around trying to find the "puhfect punkin"... Harvest family photo

Siblings Class at the hospital

Randy and I took Ben to a "Siblings Class" at the hospital today where I will be delivering "Baby Logan" in the next few weeks. The class invited children 3 years-6 years of age; so we fibbed a little and said Ben was 3 years old....really wasn't that bad of us; he is very close to being 3! Well, he was the only boy in the class and the only child younger than 5. For the first hour of the class, Randy and I were looking at each other wondering "why did we bring him to this?..." You can imagine that having a class full of 5-6 year old little girls playing with life-like baby dolls, our "3" year old son did not fit in, nor was he cooperative! We were out of our league! However, we went on a tour of the women's services center at the hospital---L &D, Post-Partum, and the Nursery. While at the nursery, Ben did get to see the real babies through the window, so that was fun. When we went back to the classroom, Randy and Ben sat on the floor with the other little girls and the children got to "learn" how to hold, diaper, clothe and feed a baby. Ben did pretty good---his favorite part was putting the socks on the baby doll. Funny, he kept bringing me the baby doll for "mommy to hold". I guess he is already figuring that part out! :-) When I asked him if he wanted to hold the baby doll, he said "no, I want Logan to pop out for me to hold"---if only it was as easy as "popping out"!! Overall, the class was okay---it really didn't meet all expectations, but then again, I have an overly-active "3" year old to deal with!

Pregnant Friends!

Within the past month, I have been blessed to have seen one of my very best friends, Meagan Moss, twice! Meagan and her husband live just outside of Denver, Colorado, so getting to see her is a rare event! The exciting thing for us both is that we are both pregnant---I am 6 weeks ahead of her; this is my 2nd pregnancy; this is her 1st! So of course, we had to take "preggo pics"! The full frontal shot...Kristen is 31 weeks here; Meagan is 25 weeks.
The profile shot...to accentuate our growing bellies!

Long Overdue...

A couple of weeks ago, the Hood and Rees families were invited to a surprise birthday party to a good family in Marble Falls, Texas. One of my best friends from my childhood and teenage years, Leslie Coleman, was there (it was her mom's party!). Leslie and I were pregnant at the same time with our precious toddler boys---and after almost 3 years, our boys finally met and got to play together! This meeting was long overdue! Tyler Yordy and Ben Hood are only about 3 weeks apart in age---and they played together great...despite some tiffs about having to "share toys"! Here is a picture of our boys together---aren't they cute!?!
