Flood of Hermine

Tropical storm Hermine flooded the San Antonio area badly. Turkey Creek rose higher than we have ever seen it since we have lived here. The road was closed in front of our house for a couple of hours. The boys and I were a little nervous watching the water rise higher...and higher...and higher! Here are some photos of the flood. Unfortunately, my photographs really don't do the water justice. It was high and flowing fast. The majority of our backyard was underwater...really.

A close up shot of the flood gates. In front of that big oak tree is usally a large rock pile---which you can't see any of, because it is completely under water! The water was at least 2 feet high at the peak.
